The Asterisk Garden
TheĀ garden we planted last year is more than just a place to grow food. It’s a way for us to help feed the hungry. And in today’s Winston-Salem Journal, Woodbine got some nice coverage for it.
While it’s covered with snow and ice right now, the article, “Area Gardens yield varied, but generally bountiful harvests,” brought back great memories of bringing this thing to life and what it meant to us to be able to share our harvest. We took all the food to Second Harvest Food Bank, as we will in 2011.
A huge thanks to Fafard for donating the soil (or as we in the biz call it, growing media), and for their role in the Plant a Row for the Hungry program. Thanks also to our own Lani Paul who masterminded the design and oversaw production, and to David Bare for including us in his story.
